Dwarf Lady dragons are so named for their colors that greatly resemble the ladybug, they're bright red with black spots. Being a small dragon, their colors are part of a survival tactic; the bright colors imitate those of poisonous tasting insects which wards off potential predators. Hatchlings start off black and grow yellow wings, as they mature those wings turn red once they reach adulthood as they grow a second pair. As adults they have two sets of red wings: a fragile semi-transparent set and a spotted stiff second pair called elytra that cover them. Their wings are too small to carry them in full flight but they are able to get a short burst of flight to escape predators. Their main diet is insects, mostly those which feed on plants. It is because of this reason that lady dragons have a symbiotic relationship with plants as they rid them of pests; while in turn they are allowed to lay their eggs in the plants which keeps them safe from harm.
